Rain Dogs is a British series airing on HBO about a woman and her daughter struggling to survive on no income, no prospects, and no place to stay. Despite the massively depressing circumstances, the show works as a situational comedy because it’s characters are impervious to shame, and absurd enough not to get bogged down in their problems.
