In this study we are focusing on the part of the Christmas story where an angel appears to shepherds on the night of Jesus’ birth (Luke 2:8-20). He shares with them good news of great joy for all people, “Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is Christ the Lord.” The Jewish people had waited for centuries for their promised Messiah to come. And, finally, their Messiah had come in Christ our Savior. This is as much good news for us as it was for these shepherds!
