This study will focus on Mark 15:33-37, which tells us of Jesus’ final hours on the cross. It was during that dark time that Jesus cried out in a loud voice, “My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?” In this question He is expressing the hurtful rejection that He felt from His Father God as He took on Himself the sins of the whole world. This is by far the greatest pain that Jesus experienced that day on the cross, and again He suffered through that pain for us.
