Today's study will focus on a second dangerous prayer, “Lord, Break Me.” This will be an uncomfortable prayer for most of us. We would rather pray a prayer of blessing and comfort, like the prayer of Jabez in 1 Chronicles 4:10. But this dangerous prayer is not that kind of a prayer. It is, instead, a prayer of brokenness and surrender — to ask God to break you and break your heart with the things that break His heart. The examples of Jeremiah (Jeremiah 8:18, 21) and Jesus (Matthew 9:36) will challenge us to pray this dangerous prayer.
