In this episode, I am sharing conversation with Super Mother , a Parenting Coach and a Author and her name is Wendy Vigdor-Hess. She brings awareness and healing to the dynamics present in our current parenting paradime and helps parents and children shift to a more balanced, loving and authentic connection. Her work has been an evolution of how she can best help others having learned through my own living of life. She has worked with families since early on in her career as a registered dietitian with the WIC program and in her own private practice. She loves to learn and grow and in addition to being a certified coach, blend multiple modalities that She has been trained in to best meet the needs of the people she work with. Since she come by this sensitive empathic kid path honestly, and waiting to become a parent myself, she didn't realize it but was creating her program as we raised our kids. Through her own exploration and learning about being a highly sensitive empath, I also felt a drive to bring more of my experience to help other children and families. For children to be able to know and act freely as themselves from a young age and for there to be congruence between parents and children. There can be a lot of misunderstandings that get internalized and understood differently and my intention is to help be a force for good and empower families to be the highest versions of themselves. She went to Bastyr University to continue my nutrition schooling and internship for becoming a registered dietitian. While out there, she took part in an elimination diet where you remove certain common allergen foods and see how you feel as they are omitted and then added back in. She was fascinated and learned so much and realized how effected I was by some of the foods. She was readying to open my private practice and realized that my intuition was still there but had a bit “duller” quality to it when she ate certain things and wanted to be able to give my best to the new clients that would come. So She chose to stay off of certain foods. With that came cravings for those goodies so she started to make my own recipes of treats to bring to potlucks because she wanted a treat and wanted to feel she could have a treat too instead of feeling “deprived” if she didn’t have one or negative about “can’t have one.” She would bring enough to share with others and people would love the treats. She decided to write up a little booklet type of thing for people from what She had gathered and learned and recipes and such. It ended up turning into an book first and then a year or so later…the book it is of 404 pages! We all crave the different tastes, with sweetness being one of them. With sugar addiction, it can also lend itself to hiding behind other things, covering up feelings, perhaps feeling too much and wanting to “dull it” with sugar and more. For her, she grew up loving sweets and as she got older continued with that. Stepping into one’s journey fully, whether as a sensitive or empath/intuitive or not, is such a rewarding experience and if food and sweets is an aspect of that for any of your listeners, she welcome their questions, comments and feedback. If you have any questions you can write to her to wendy@vigdorhess.com, and you can find her book available @amazon.in.
