COMMENTARY Jude
Jude 1–6 (KJV 1900)
6 And the angels which kept not their first estate, but left their own habitation, he hath reserved in everlasting chains under darkness unto the judgment of the great day.
Jude 7–25 (KJV 1900)
7 Even as Sodom and Gomorrha, and the cities about them, in like manner giving themselves over to fornication, and going after strange flesh, are set forth for an example, suffering the vengeance of eternal fire. 8 Likewise also these filthy dreamers defile the flesh, despise dominion, and speak evil of dignities.
- S&G was choice land. rich in vegetation and rivers and streams and very lush. Where everyone would want to live. Compared to and many believe was, the Garden of Eden. California, NY, America.
- The separation of Abraham and Lot
- These two cities were imminently and infamously wicked.
- Jerusalem is called the sister of Sodom.
- The seat of Antichrist is called spiritual Sodom.
- A wicked life is compared to the vine of S&G.
- God was willing to allay destruction of S&G if any righteous folks were among them and this shows the patience and willingness of God to forgive sin.
- When men say they were born gay. Yes, they were. because they were born sinners
- “Sodomy,” changed by man to “Homosexual,” then to “Gay”--Softening the terminology of the deed won’t soften the heinousness of the crime in God’s eyes, nor will it fend off the indictment or reduce the sentence that God’s justice requires.
- Sin, Judgment & Hell have been made cartoony. Unbelievable. Foolish. And, subjects and substance of ridicule, scorn and mockery.
- The fashions of the world change in every age and generation but sin is NEVER out of fashion.
- God NEVER changes. With Him there no shadow of turning. The sins He hated in the past, He still hates and will ever hate. So, Sodomy is now just as abominable to God now as it has always been.
- They that are in ship tug at rope, pulling the ship to the pier to moor themselves to a chock. We don’t throw the rope around the chock fixed to the pier and pull it to us.
- God was willing to allay destruction of S&G if any righteous folks were among them and this shows the patience and willingness of God to forgive sin.

- The Truth is NEVER antiquated or outdated. However, for most people today the truth is definitely out of fashion.
- Most men rather imitate the sins of others, rather than to repudiate them. Most men today prefer to innovate on the sins of others, rather than to repent from them. Most men would rather legislate sin his courts, rather than to heed the warning from the bar of Divine Justice.
- As the time passes the price of sin increases, not because the sinners of the past were worse than us today but because we, today, have a higher degree of spiritual enlightenment from the example that God left us with HIS dealings with S&G.
