In Romans 10:17, we read, "So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God." The Greek word from which the English translators translated the word, "word," in this passage really means, "Command." So faith can only be obtained by "hearing," but one can only hear by God's Command. Conclusion: You can ONLY come to faith when God commands it, as opposed to customary thinking that faith can be the result our anemic and bondage-bearing WILLS.
