So, here’s a loaded question: how did your relationships change over the past year?

Did you lose some?

Did others grow stronger?

Did you maybe even manage to form new relationships among the chaos?

There’s obviously no “right” answer to this question, but it’s one that – for better or for worse – we’ve all had a little more time to reflect on than we used to.

And I’ll be the first to say that it has been far from easy, but one of the things I appreciate most about this collective world-shift we all experienced is the rise of Radical Honesty.

If you’re unfamiliar with the concept, Radical Honesty is basically where accountability & vulnerability meet. And when done well, it leads to some of the strongest relationships you can imagine.

My guest this week is a fan of this new transparency.

Robert E. Hall is the recovering-CEO (his words) of the multinational consulting company ActionSystems which he co-founded.

He has gone on to become a highly sought-after speaker & author, publishing over 150 articles in publications like The New York Times, Forbes, & The Dallas Morning News.

His 2011 book, “This Land of Strangers: The Relationship Crisis That Imperils Home, Work, Politics, and Faith” is one of the best books I’ve read exploring one of the root causes of our fractured landscape.

We discuss the way relationships bring us our greatest joys & hardest trials, why great leaders create the conditions for change, & need to remember that relationships are both valuable & value-creating.

Enjoy the show!
