Description

Hebrews 12:2: looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.

The entire plan of redemption was infact based on love. John 3:16: For God so love the world that He gave His only begotten son .... the complete implementation of the plan of salvation and redemption of mankind was based on Joy.
The joy that was set before Him produced the power to endure the cross and despise the shame.

Do you know that one of the greatest attack Jesus suffered was the attack on His Joy? At the most critical moment of His divine assignment the bible tells us that He was exceedingly sorrowful and greatly distressed . Mathew 26 verse 37-39 tells us that:

And He took with Him Peter and the two sons of Zebedee, and He began to be sorrowful and deeply distressed. Then He said to them, “My soul is exceedingly sorrowful, even to death.
As a result of this sorrow, he depleted in strenght and He almost gave up asking for the cup to pass over Him. Friends, the arrow of sorrow is to weaken you and prevent you from acomplishing your divine assignments. But  the joy that is set before you will produce the strenght that will carry you through in such hour of need.
