In our passionate desire to do the work of God, we must never substitute divine encounters for divine process. Apostle Paul's encounter with the Lord on His way to Damascus, provoked two immediate questions:
1. Who are you Lord?
2. What do you want me to do?
The first question was answered by the Lord. He introduced Himself to Paul in a very spectacular way. The answered to the second question was however delayed. The first question was appropriate, it served the purpose of the encounter. For every encounter is intended to introduce God to men. But the second question would take some time. Paul had to go to a street called Straight and wait in the place of prayer for a few days before the scale in his eyes would be prayed off by Ananias.
Never substitute divine encounter for divine process. God must take His beloved once like you and I through His process. The process birthed a genuine personal prayer life in Paul. When Ananias hesitated to go visit Paul because of the uncertainty of the genuinty of his salvation, the Lord encouraged him not to worry because Saul was praying.
Divine encounter brings you to the place of encounter and divine process brings you to the place where Christ is formed in you.
Listen be blessed and share with others. God bless you and have a very wonderful day.
