Luke 24:45: And He opened their understanding, that they might comprehend the Scriptures.
Interesting to note that after three and a half years of intensive full time practical discipleship training with Jesus himself, the disciples still had their understanding closed.
So first post-ressurection assignments of Jesus was to open things in the lives of His disciples. He opened their eyes, opened scriptures to them and then finally opened their understanding to understand the scriptures.
This third thing Jesus opened explained so much to me and redefined my prayer focus for myself and my people. So many people do not lack understanding. But I think that the Saviour needs to unlock that understanding. A closed understanding implies closed access to the resurrection power of Christ. Until He opened their understanding, they resurrection power meant nothing to them.
You may have unrestrained understanding of ministry, yet your understanding of marriage is closed. You may have a good understanding of your business and yet have a completely closed understanding of how to proceed in managing your profits, you may have a great understanding of the will of God and yet have a closed understanding on how to practically DO the will of God in your every day life.
Friends, why not ask the Lord to do in you today, what He did in the lives of His disciples after resurrection? Listen, be blessed and share with other!. Let my understanding be completely opened in all ramifications so that I can enjoy the full power of resurrection.
