Goodness and mercy have been programmed to go one-way – The path of righteousness. Once David was set to follow the path of righteousness in Psalm 23, he was surely confident that goodness and mercy would follow him all the days of his life.
Oh yes! Once you are set in the path of righteousness, goodness and mercy have no choice but to follow you and follow you closely. Goodness and mercy will never go any other way, they do not follow any path but the path of righteousness.
A man may pray all he wants, proclaim scriptures all he wants, and fast all year along. If he or she is not set in the path of righteousness, goodness and mercy will never follow Him.
If you abide in Him, and the Lord becomes your shepherd indeed, you will lie in green pastures, He will lead you in the path of righteousness and "Psalm 23:6 :Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life and I will dwell in the house of the lord forever."
