Luke 8:5: A sower went out to sow his seed: and as he sowed, some fell by the wayside; and it was trodden down, and the fowls of the air devoured it.
Have you wondered why you keep having the same problem with your husband everyday? He would apologize and promise never to do it again. As soon as he leaves and steps out he forgets all his promises and his behaviour is even worse at his return. Why? The fowl of the air have devoured the seed that was planted.
In contending with the power of the prince of the air, making sacrifices is not enough, you must be sober and vigilant to chase away the fowls of the air looking for every means to steal and devour your labour, your sacrifice and your seed. When our father of faith made sacrifices based on God's instruction, see what he did in Genesis 15:10-11:
And he took unto him all these, and divided them in the midst, and laid each piece one against another: but the birds divided he not. And when the fowls came down upon the carcases, Abram drove them away.
What is consuming the seed of your business? What is eating up your finances? What is consuming the seed of your prayer life? What is consuming the seed of your calling? It is time to dethrone the prince of the power of the air.
It's time to follow the example of Abraham our father and drive out the vultures, the satanic fowls of the air, looking for godly seeds to destroy.
It's time to pray for your sons and daughters, its time to pray for that seed of ministry that God has given to you. It’s time to pray away the fowls of the air trying to consume your sacrifice. Your labour, your effort, your passion for God.
