The strategy of the enemy is to first attack with the tongue and once the venom of the tongue is transmitted into his target host, the body will eventually succumb to the attacks that would follow. So when the anointed young David came face to face with Goliath, there was first a fierce exchange of words in the Spirit before there was any physical exchange of weapon.
David did not allow the tongue of Goliath to rise against him. Before the reckless discharge of the words of Goliath would settle, David sent even stronger and more ferocious words that the Spirit of God placed on his tongues. Even to the point of his death, David recognized the POWER that was on his tongue.
2 Samuel 23:1-2 says: Now these are the last words of David.Thus says David the son of Jesse;Thus says the man raised up on high,The anointed of the God of Jacob,And the sweet psalmist of Israel:“The Spirit of the Lord spoke by me,And His word was on my tongue.
