Lizzie’s big mouth brings nothin’ but trouble. The word gets out and nobody likes it one bit. Thyme and Josiah become the town pariahs. Bishop Goodspeed comes to put a stop on all this nonsense. How could a checkout girl in a podunk town like Skedee possibly become the mother of a new Christ? Skedee inhabitants, under the guidance of Bishop Goofspeed, go off the deep end adapting a mob mentality, and resort to the worst of responses. The town Gossips play an interesting role in it all.
