Isaiah prophesied that in the coming new covenant our shame (the shame we experienced at the Fall) would be replaced with double honor (Isaiah 61:7). During his earthly ministry, Jesus honored many people who were suffering in their shame. They are still receiving honor today. On the cross, Jesus endured horrific shame and humiliation. Yet, Hebrews 12:2 says He saw it as a small thing compared to the joy set before Him - loving and cherishing us, his beautiful bride.
