Description

In John 6, Jesus feeds the multitude and they follow Him. However, Jesus tells them they are following Him for the natural provision and not for the true bread. In the time of Moses, God provided for all the needs of the Israelites, but they were never satisfied. There was always something else they needed God to do for them. They weren't engaging in a loving relationship with their Father, they were simply trying to get God to meet their never-ending outer needs. Jesus suggested that connecting with Him was something far better than merely getting temporary needs met. This helps when we are disappointed with God because He is not acting or providing in a way we think He should. Having Jesus is having everything we need. Being in union with Him brings us above the temporary natural world problems and meets our real need inside our hearts.
