In honor of American Library Week, Ashley and Mark take on the subject of book bans in the US. While book banning and/or censoring is certainly not new, the recent trend attempting to either whitewash history or prevent access to topics around racial justice, gender identity or sexual orientation is at an all time high. Citing the “protection of our youth” as the core catalyst behind such bans is really nothing other than an attempt to protect the narrative and, by extension, maintain control….
