Main Idea: We have a cultural problem in the church that results in patterns of abuse, repeated again and again in different locations, traditions and church contexts. Culture change is difficult and requires intentionality. We need to learn how to keep these devastating events from repeating themselves in other churches and ministries. What is in the “soil” determines the health of the fruit; soil contaminated by the flesh produces poisonous fruit, while soil renewed by the Spirit produces Spirit-shaped people (Galatians 5:19–23).
