Description

Picture this: a seemingly innocent school drop-off turns into a full-blown existential crisis. I know, I didn't see it coming either.

So there I was, chatting with another mom, and she hit me with the question: "What do you do?" My reflex response? I launched into the whole business spiel, like I was auditioning for a reality show about entrepreneurs. She listened politely and then dropped the bomb: "No, no, what do you do outside of business?"

Cue the mental tumbleweed.

I stood there, mentally flipping through a Rolodex of hobbies that I could swear I used to have. It was like my brain decided to take a coffee break right when I needed it the most. Saying I don't tether my identity to my career would be as believable as saying the reboot of "Sex in the City" matches up to the original. Not buying it, right?

But is this healthy?

On this episode of the podcast I'm, lifting the curtain on my behind-the-scenes saga—my journey to break free from the clutches of perpetual professionalism, and re-discover the woman beyond the business. Spoiler alert: it involves some seriously botched attempts at morning journaling and more!

So if you've ever struggled to answer the question, "What's your thing when you're not business-ing?" then buckle up and tune in to this episode of the podcast.

You might just find yourself pondering why it's so wrong to find fulfillment in what you do.
