Imagine anticipating with excitement for the long awaited Messiah to come. Waiting with joyful expectations for Him to set all things right. Instead of what they believed would take place upon His arrival, they watched as the Romans arrested, tortured and killed Him. Imagine then, a few days later, hearing some of His followers say that His body was missing! That is the dilemma we find these two disciples in as they are leaving Jerusalem. What they didn’t count on was the resurrected Jesus appearing to them! He listened to them sort through their doubts, questions, and fears. And He promises to appear in our lives in that same way. Do you count on Jesus to appear? Do you know He will walk with you through your disillusionment? He is always ready to shoulder our doubts, questions and fears that arise as we walk through life.
