Too often, we tell ourselves, " I am not forgiving that person, until they say they are sorry for what they did!" As a follower of Jesus, forgiveness is required on our part, even if the other person never recognizes their offense and asks us for forgiveness. Our forgiveness of others is rooted in the fact that Jesus forgave us! Col. 3:12-14, " Therefore, as God's chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience. Bear with each other and forgive one another if any of you has a grievance against someone. Forgive as the Lord forgave you. And over all of these virtues put on love, which binds them together in perfect unity." It is challenging, but NOT impossible, to walk in forgiveness. With God's help, we can walk in forgiveness because He forgave us.
