Our trope this week is one of the undead... Zombies! While we're so used to all the death, destruction, and chaos that this trope brings, we're actually talking about a more stripped down approach to the subject by taking a look at the 2018 French horror film The Night Eats the World. What happens when you give a misanthrope a whole apartment building to survive in solo during the zombie apocalypse? We try and answer this question by sitting down with the character of Sam, his loneliness, this film's unique characterization of zombies, what the zombie trope has to say about society and Sam's own purpose (or lack thereof?) of surviving.
