Anger is a huge destructive force that can ruin relationships outside of yourself and even inside your own soul. David realizes this in Ps 39. He has pretty good control of his tongue, but his heart is burning hot.
He makes the turn away from anger internally. He is struck by his anger. He realizes this is not what he wants to be doing with his remaining few moments on this earth. Let's imitate this.
