When you are reading the Bible and you are struggling with understanding – God’s word always delivers.
We need God’s pure words without substitutes. God’s word alone.
Substitutes that we often replace
Gossip (we don’t fact check gossip)
Being fueled by vengeance (the word of God is clear, it belongs to God)
Lying
Cheating in any way
Addictions
A substitute will always dehydrate the body and will also dehydrate the soul – ultimately your trust in God and his work. Substitutes will always return void.
James 1:21
Therefore lay aside all filthiness and overflow of wickedness, and receive with meekness the implanted word, which is able to save your souls.
John 17:17
Sanctify them by Your truth. Your word is truth.
The Parable of the Fig Tree
Luke 21:29-33
29 Then He spoke to them a parable: “Look at the fig tree, and all the trees. 30 When they are already budding, you see and know for yourselves that summer is now near. 31 So you also, when you see these things happening, know that the kingdom of God is near. 32 Assuredly, I say to you, this generation will by no means pass away till all things take place. 33 Heaven and earth will pass away, but My words will by no means pass away.
