Context and Highlights about the book of Isaiah:

CHAPTERS: 66
VERSES: 1,292
WORDS: 37,044

OBSERVATIONS ABOUT ISAIAH:

Isaiah is like a miniature Bible:

-The first 39 chapters, like the 39 books of the Old Testament, are filled with judgment upon immoral and
idolatrous men.

-The final 27 chapters, like the 27 books of the New Testament, declare a message of hope

Isaiah has been called:

-The “Messianic Prophet”
-The “Paul of the Old Testament”
-The Shakespeare of the prophets

Isaiah was a prophet to the Southern Kingdom of Judah and presents a series of oracles against:

-
Babylon
-Assyria
-Philistia
-Moab
-Damascus (Syria)
-Ethiopia
-Egypt
-Edom
-Arabia
-Jerusalem (Judah)
-Tyre

Scripturally:

The Red Sea was parted for the Israelites to safely pass through on dry ground and escape their enemy.  (Exodus 14: 21-31)

He shut the mouth of the lions for Daniel who was shut in their den all night long, so he could be a living testimony to the faithfulness and almighty power of God.  (Daniel 6:22)

And the story continues with God as the Waymaker in Jesus Christ-

He calms the storm with a simple command of His voice. “Even the wind and waves obey Him!” (Mark 4: 37-41)

Jesus fed thousands who were hungry from only five loaves of bread and two fish. He ensured everyone man, woman and child would not leave hungry. There was even an abundance left over. (Luke 9: 13-17)

He brought miracle healing everywhere He went; healing lepers completely and wholly (Luke 17: 11-19) and restored a woman with chronic bleeding for 12 years who had been considered an outcast in her community (Luke 8: 43-48), and gave sight to a man born blind (John 9: 1-6), and countless other miracle healings in His ministry on earth.
