Gratefulness is one of the most attractive traits anyone can have – a grateful person isn’t motivated by external praise but rather by the Love of God.

I want to talk about two competing values and the role they have in sapping our gratitude to God away. Everyone leans one way or the other – and there ought to be consistent self reflection regarding both of these values.

1. The Legalist - I have earned what is given to me.

2. The Lovist - I deserve to be given to.
