Send us your feedback — we’re listening
Jesus is everywhere in British culture, but often as background noise, a punchline, or a swear word. From Elim Church Swanley, we sit down with Simon Pinchbeck to ask why that happens, what it does to our hearts over time, and why Christian men need to wake up to the reality of spiritual warfare rather than drifting with the mood of the age. If the name of Jesus is the one name the world keeps throwing around, what does that tell us about power and authority?
We get practical and painfully honest about men’s struggles: temptation, anger, lust, pornography, and the quiet compromises that feel normal because “everyone does it”. We talk about conviction, repentance, and why following Jesus is not self-improvement or a motivational talk with a Bible verse attached. We also challenge the church to stop offering a watered down gospel that avoids sin, hell, and the cross, and to stop replacing discipleship with numbers, hype, and a business model. Social action matters, but without the gospel of Jesus Christ it never reaches the root.
Two real stories bring it home, including a man who planned suicide and met Jesus that very night, plus a heated confrontation disarmed by one simple question: “Do you want to meet Jesus and come to church with me?” We end with an invitation to contact Real Men for Christ, connect with community, and take a real step towards Christ. If this helped you, subscribe, share it with a mate, and leave a review so more people hear the hope and freedom found in Jesus.
We talk plainly about how culture reshapes the image of Jesus and why Christian men cannot afford to stay passive. We challenge watered down preaching and point back to the gospel, repentance, discipleship and the power in the name of Jesus to set people free.
