After all the background of the previous episode, I’d like to devote this episode to the actual story of Metzengerstein. After listening to this episode, you might like to go back and listen to Part One - even if you have already heard it - in fact the episode has some valuable information that should be with the story - I like to try and keep episodes under 30 minutes - and it really takes more than a half an hour to even begin to cover Metzengerstein properly.
So without further ado, what follows is what is generally agreed to be the first story written by Edgar Allan Poe that we know saw publication.
