God’s ways can prosper us because they are good ways. God has given us light, understanding, through His commandments. Psalms 118:24-27 NKJV says, “This is the day the LORD has made; we will rejoice and be glad in it. Save now, I pray, O LORD; O LORD, I pray, send now prosperity. Blessed is he who comes in the name of the LORD! We have blessed you from the house of the LORD. God is the LORD, and He has given us light.”
This next scripture takes place on Rosh Hashanah which is a feast day and a day of rest. Nehemiah 8:9-10 NKJV says, “This day is holy to the LORD your God; do not mourn nor weep. For all the people wept, when they heard the words of the Law. Then he said to them, ‘Go your way, eat the fat, drink the sweet, and send portions to those for whom nothing is prepared; for this day is holy to our Lord. Do not sorrow, for the joy of the LORD is your strength.’” God’s ways bring joy and doing things His way instead of the made-up ways of mankind can give us both joy and strength in life.
