How many times have you felt like you don't even know where to begin when it comes to your marketing? 

 You want to be very, clear about what it looks like in your business to be profitable, and one of the ways is making sure you are utilizing effective marketing systems because even when you feel like you're maxed out and turning customers away, you still need to be marketing because you never know when that can shift. And that is a common mistake and common misconception that a lot of business owners make.

Marketing is never going away, even when we have a small budget. And quite a lot of entrepreneurs are working with a smaller budget because of the year that we've had. And this is true no matter when you're listening to this, this can happen at different points of growth in all different businesses

Let's review seven low-cost marketing secrets for small business owners and entrepreneurs. I'm going to run through them really quickly and then we're going to dive deeper into each one of them.

 e-mail your clients and let them know what's going on on a consistent basis. They want you to communicate with them. They want to know what's happening.  Communicate with your clients to let them know what's going on on a consistent basis. 

Stay up to date on social media, post stuff, engage. Cross-promote with other businesses is key to success.   Small businesses need to work together. Be very clear on who your target market is and only spend your marketing budget on marketing to them.

 Use videos to connect! Find out what your clients want to know.  Emailing your clients to let them know what's going on, your clients want to hear from you. This is an investment of time and you have to put some structure in, but you need to stand out in the mind of your clients.

Another important thing to address is social media. You need to engage with your clients on social media, make it fun and have a good time with them, and then cross-promote with other businesses. This is going to be very much key to success.

When small businesses work together in their communities, they will be able to remain stronger in their marketplace. And clients and customers love to see this. They love to see the collaborations of their favorite local businesses working together.

Another cost-effective yet powerful way to build your business is sending handwritten notes, a birthday note, or just let them know you're thinking about them.  

Handwritten snail mail will stand out in the mind of your consumer so much more than the million emails they get.

Also, be sure to connect with all the neighborhood businesses around you so you have enough people in your neighborhood recommending you.  If you have not checked out the neighborhood app, do that because it's a really great way to get known in your market.

 Just ask a couple of people that are your target market clients if they're on the neighborhood app and what neighborhood they're in. That's how you can show up and just help out, answer questions, do what you can.
