Many Christians, hoping to be faithful to both Scripture and what they understand to be scientific evidence, try to adapt Genesis to the evolutionary model. Doing so creates a lot more problems than they realize. In fact, evolutionary beliefs undermine clear theological teaching in both Old and New Testaments. And it makes it really difficult to answer the question of where suffering and death came from.
