If you show interest in pursuing a form of art, there's a good chance teachers and parents will steer you elsewhere and tell you sure, you can be anything, but not that.
The tech industry is a great example of people steering their children to something that's blowing up – get into computers, the sky's the limit. And it was, for a time, until mass layoffs hit the industry and suddenly, all of these computer science graduates are stuck living at home because they can't find jobs in their field.
The point is that you deserve the life you dream for yourself, not the life others dream or wish for you.
