You’ve probably experienced the feeling of irritability or sadness before. You might’ve even had trouble sleeping depending on how sad you were. However, like the old saying goes, time heals all, so those negative emotions probably passed within a couple of days.

However, when a person is depressed, they experience these negative emotions every day for an incredibly long time period. When you’re depressed, you find it hard to deal with any tasks that come with living life, and you quickly lose interest in anything that once brought you joy or satisfaction or anything you used to do regularly.
