If you ever wanted to spend a day hanging out with like minded people chatting about winter camping or backcountry canoe camping in Ontario, one of David Bain's symposiums (symposiae?) is the ticket for you.

He created and heads the Ontario Winter Camping Symposium and the Ontario Backcountry Canoe Symposium.

A retired teacher, he's seldom at a loss for words. Certainly not during our chat with him.

David is incredibly observant and, therefore, very knowledgeable about all camping-related things.

He was a recent presenter at the Toronto Outdoor Adventure Show.
So, he's a bit of a big deal. :)
