In this homily given at St Pat's on January 22, 2023, Fr Mathias challenges us to cooperate with Christ in bringing unity and communion to school, workplaces, families and churches. Since Jesus is the one who unites us, we share in his mission to unite and reconcile the world to God in him. Father Mathias outlines four ways we can live as "apostles of communion" so we can bring about unity of love in our spheres of influences:
1) Immediately forgive those who've hurt you (and encourage others to do the same)
2) Sincerely pray for those you've divided against
3) Refuse to fall into judging the hearts and motives of others
4) Avoid gossip like the plague.
Since love unites and evil divides, our mission of being apostles of communion can go a long way of bringing the unity we have in Christ to our families, workplaces, schools, and our Church.
