Have you ever heard the phrase, “You are in the world, but not of it?” I was reading a blog the other day about a teen girl who was told that phrase time after time after time, but she was at a loss of what that actually meant. She said something along the lines of, “I would like to live like I’m in the world, not of it, but what does that actually look like?
1 Timothy 4:12 says, “Don’t let anyone think less of you because you are young. Be an example (create a pattern or be a leader) to all believers in what you say, in the way you live (how you act, how you treat others), in your love (how you love others unconditionally as God loves you), your faith, and your purity.”
This week, we’re going to answer the question, how to we live in the world, but not of it concerning what we say, how we live and how we love. Next week, we’re going to talk about how we live in this world, but not of it concerning our faith and our purity.
