Sam Davidoff spent two decades as a trial lawyer, litigating high stakes civil and criminal cases in federal and state courtrooms and before arbitration panels. Along the way, he kept running into the same frustration: the tools lawyers use to manage case files simply haven't kept pace with the demands of modern litigation. As a partner running day to day litigation, and later as head of his firm's technology committee, Sam saw this gap firsthand.
So he built Align, a digital binder platform designed for litigators who need fast, secure, mobile access to their case materials without reinventing the way they already work.
In this episode, Sam joins host Eda Rosa to talk about what it actually looks like to leave a big law career and build a product from scratch, what he learned about litigation workflows that most legal tech misses, and how AI is starting to reshape the way attorneys and their teams prepare for trial. Whether you're a paralegal managing case files under pressure, or a legal professional curious about the tools reshaping litigation, this conversation offers a grounded, practitioner's view of where legal tech is headed.
