Felicia Fischhoff is the Canadian Director and Co-founder of Fight4Freedom. She works alongside a team of passionate individuals who longs to see the ending of sex trafficking in our nation and world. Felicia has her Bachelors in Social Work, a BA in International Development Studies, and is currently pursuing her Masters in Clinical Counselling. Speaking about Fight4Freedom and how it started, as well as sharing how people can get involved.
Fight4Freedom exists to be an active voice and advocate of justice for individuals exploited by human trafficking in the form of sexual exploitation and to further assist them in finding necessary support systems that will aid in their journey to safety, healing, and moving forward.
Fight4Freedom raises awareness on human trafficking and educates young Canadians, teachers, churches, front-line workers, the general public, and service providers on how to recognize the signs of human trafficking and how to respond to a potential case. Fight4Freedom equips and empowers community members to get involved and join the fight to end this injustice.
What We Do:
Our organization operates through four main arms of service
Our 4 Arms
1) Education - raising awareness and training surrounding the issues of sex trafficking. We educate, empower and equip community members on the realities of human trafficking through speaking engagements, training sessions, awareness initiatives, research and writing
2) Outreach - reaching out with teams of staff and volunteers to places where sex trafficking is known to happen. We meet individuals in high risk areas, help support them in their needs, and walk with them while they leave their traffickers.
3) Aftercare - engaging in strong rehabilitation strategies to assist those leaving situations of sexual exploitation. We provide support, case management, mentorship, and rehabilitative services to survivors of sex trafficking.
4) Partnerships - collaborating with other agencies or individuals to provide the best possible supports and services to survivors. We actively seek to build partnership with other community resources and agencies — such as police, healthcare workers, NGO's, rehabilitation workers — who are willing to take a stand against trafficking.
