In today's Aromatic Chat, I have the pleasure of connecting with Suzanne Bolton, a Clinical Aromatherapist based out of Colorado. Suzanne has been practicing aromatherapy in a clinical setting since the late 90s, and while she's technically retired from the clinical setting, she still teaches classes and volunteers her time when she can.
Suzanne credits her passion for aromatherapy as stemming from a love of the land, herbs, and the plants around her. She was working at Mercy Regional Hospital at the time that they received a grant from the American Cancer Society that provided for many resources for their hospital, including a healing garden and the opportunity to study aromatherapy - the rest has been a fascinating journey!
Life has taken Suzanne many different places, including to Columbia with the Peace Core where she met her husband, and Florida where she and her husband founded a yoga studio centering on love and self-care. From there, they moved to the mountains of Colorado, where she has been able to enjoy making a difference in a smaller place. She began working in the ICU at the local hospital, and helped to create the TLC Integrative Care team.
Tune in to this episode to find out how the TLC Integrative Care team improves the lives and experiences of the patients and families that they work with, what is lighting Suzanne up in life, and to hear her advice to everyone who desires to age well!
