Georgie’s musical slog ( we use the world lovingly) began when she decided in year 11, that she wanted to become a classical trumpet player…
After ‘Limping’ through her HSC and pleading for a letter of recommendation rather than her academic score, She moved from Tenterfield, Rural NSW and Studied a Bachelor of Classical Music majoring in Trumpet at Newcastle Conservatorium under the guidance of John Kellaway.
2008- 2016, Georgie has made a living as a freelance Trumpeter, playing in various Opera Companies, Orchestras, Chamber groups, Big Bands, jazz ensembles and more.
Never quite enough to make ends meet, she decided that it may be her singing that could change her fortune…
After a stint in New Orleans, USA, Georgie established herself as a prominent vocalist, learning from some of the best! Back in OZ She frequently guests for numerous bands, and ensembles, and has made her mark in the Jazz world.
It really is about making tasty sounds so people feel something!
Live performance is what makes Georgie tick, however she is desperate to have something recorded, and after a tumultuous 2020 of loosing literally hundreds of gigs, and festival lineups; She’s looking forward to recording, and producing a tangible album that she can share! And if no one likes it, at least her mum can have a copy…
