In this weeks message Pastor Joshua Lett introduces the Letter of Philippians. What Paul is communicating to us today through the letter of Philippians is that being a Christian is seeing our own story as a lived expression of the Good News. Everyday we are living with a story, a narrative that we believe. It plays out in our day to day actions. So it’s very important to define this story that we believe because the stories we tell ourselves everyday reveal the true identity we believe. Identity impacts beliefs. Beliefs form thoughts. Thoughts drive decisions. Decisions birth actions. Actions make reality. Therefore, we each want to ask and answer the question, “Is the Good News about Christ redefining my story?” Over the next 5 weeks we want to commit to the Truth found in Philippians, practicing out these Truths each week, sharing what God is doing in us and through us with our community, and overall, enjoying the loving, transforming, and empowering Presence of God.
Discussion Questions:
1. What story are you believing in your day to day life?
2. Is the Good News about Christ redefining your story?
3. We are formed by stories, habits, relationships, and environments. - Reflect on what those look like for you?
4. How can you commit to truth, practice, community,
and the presence of God to experience the
transformation of discipleship?
