It has always been incredibly vexing to me to hear adults speak negatively of children-especially children that are a part of their respective community(ies).

It seems that we have now forgotten what we experienced as youth or have become so detached from the village that other's well-being is no longer of our concern.

Sure, I understand that there are now risks when approaching the youth of today-everyone seems to be "strapped" and seem to possess little to no reticence in using that weapon.

"Abdication"

in its formal sense is the act of stepping down from a position of high office, sovereign power, or authority.

My people...especially MEN...are we now willingly giving up that seat of authority within our communities?

Ask yourselves that question when knowingly passing the school on PTA night, when observing the community protest being led by mostly, or all women, when remaining seated on public transportation and allowing your male son to do the same. When perpetually passing that street corner and watching the numbers swell and observing empty pews within the local church.

AND at this time ...this important time-are we willingly ceding our authority by REFUSING to VOTE?

Failing or REFUSING to vote is tantamount to voting against your personal self-interests.

WE CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE...IF ONLY WE POSSESS THE DESIRE TO DO SO!!

OUR SPIRIT...LIVES!

PEACE
