Andrew is currently General Manager for Global Sales Finance for Nissan, based at their headquarters in Yokohama, Japan.
Having left school at 16, Andrew started out as an apprentice boilermaker in Pittsworth, Queensland, Australia, fabricating trailers for heavy goods vehicles. As his apprenticeship grew near to completion, he realised that this wasn't the right career for him. Armed with this knowledge he set out on a journey that has seen him work across the automotive value chain and become highly experienced in all aspects of automotive finance. He has added to his technical and leadership experience along the way, earning a degree and an MBA.
Most of his career has been spent with Toyota and with Nissan and he has spent time living and working in Brisbane, Melbourne and Sydney in Australia, Yokohama, in Japan and Bangkok,Thailand.
Our conversation covers the thinking behind the decisions that he made and provides insight into the career steps that he has taken. Andrew's story demonstrates deliberation, self-awareness, determination, curiosity and lifelong learning.
