Ian is the Global Managing Director of Benchmark Consulting International Europe. Prior to joining Benchmark he had a successful international career with Ford Motor Credit Company during which he was Head of Mazda Bank Europe, President of Primus, Ford Motor Company's group of financial services companies in the Philippines, Managing Director of Ford Motor Credit Company of New Zealand and Managing Director of Henry Ford & Son Finance in the Republic of Ireland. I am also proud to count Ian a colleague in my business Aquilae.
In this conversation we talk about Ian's experiences moving around the UK and then internationally, the importance of not underestimating cultural differences even between close geographical neighbours who speak the same language, the benefits and importance of having senior leadership witness you in action doing a good job and the challenges of fitting back in in your home country after a few years away.
Ian is an absolute gentlemen, I enjoy working with him and learning from him and I am delighted to be able to introduce him to you this way. I hope you enjoy getting to know him and look forward to hearing what stands out for you in his career journey.

This episode of Career-view Mirror is brought to you by Aquilae.
Aquilae exists to close the gap between actual performance and available performance in the mobility industry, internationally.
What do we mean by actual performance and available performance?
Every individual, every team, every organisation has a level of performance that is available to them right now and typically a lower level of performance that they are actually experiencing. We call the gap between the two levels of performace, the underperformance gap. Our Aquilae Performance Model recognises the four fundamental contributors to performance and helps you identify how to get closer to your available performance and close that underperformance gap.
