Nigel is Head of Financial Services at London Electric Vehicle Company where they make electric versions of London's iconic Black taxi cabs
He has worked in the automotive industry for over 30 years including 10 years in the Middle East.
He started his career with Lombard in the UK before moving to Rover Finance. When BMW Group sold Rover, his attention turned to helping establish Alphabet BMW's multi make leasing and fleet management company where he spent ten years.
An opportunity with General Motors took him overseas to the Middle East initially to develop their leasing business before becoming head of their fleet and certified pre-owned operations across the region.
As you'll hear, in our conversation, he was about to return to the UK when an opportunity with Jaguar Land Rover tempted him to stay in Dubai, and return to a financial services role.
After almost ten years in the Middle East region, Jaguar Land Rover brought Nigel back to the UK and back to pre-owned management with engagement across several markets.
He joined London Electric Vehicle Company in February 2020.
Nigel talks about how he grew up with cars and how he pushed to get his first role out in the field with Lombard. His personality helped him build strong customer relationships that were vital when introducing some of the earliest tax efficient company car schemes back in the late 1990s and early 2000s for Royal London, the BBC and others. As well as talking about these product innovations, he shares some of his experiences of living and working overseas in the Gulf countries.
