Osman is the Managing Director of ContactCars.com in Egypt which launched its new digital used car platform in March 2021.
Before joining ContactCars just over a year ago, Osman spent 22 years involved with the BMW brand. He started as a graduate intern in the financial services business in the UK and ended up as General Manager of the BMW importer in Dubai. Along the way he gained experience in Alphabet, BMW's leasing and fleet management business. He worked in strategy development in BMW Financial Services covering Australasia the Middle East and North Africa. He was a Regional Manager for BMW Financial Services covering the Middle East and North Africa, he spent time in the cars side of the business as Area Manager Sales for the U.A.E. before becoming Managing Director of BMW Finance in the U.A.E.
In this conversation he shares very openly about his career journey and the many lessons he has learned along the way. We talk about the importance of effective interdependent relationships, the importance of developing a network, job moves that are an investment in your career, three key components to be mindful of when attempting any transition, hiring people who fit the spirit of what you are trying to achieve and what it's like when you get yourself into a situation that you feel you know absolutely nothing about.
Always, Osman talks authentically about what was going on for him at the time, what he was thinking, what he was struggling with and how he found his way through. The last but one chapter is all about the exciting new business that he is leading at contactcars.com which is right at the cutting edge of digitising the acquisition and ownership experience for used car customers in Egypt.
