Peter is the Managing Director DAF Hungary and Hungarotruck at DAF Hungary.
Peter worked over 8 years in the field of car financing for several large Hungarian financial institutions before moving to Australia during the 2009 economic crisis.
He studied business in Melbourne and then worked for BMW Australia Finance as a consultant. BMW soon recognized Peter’s ambitious and dynamic nature and he was appointed as one of the company’s Regional Sales Managers with responsibility for approximately 20 BMW dealers. In his second year, Peter’s dealers won the Dealer of the Year Trophy in 5 categories with 4 dealerships.
Subsequently, Peter was approached by the PACCAR Group in 2017 and he continued his career as the National Sales Manager of PACCAR Financial Australia. In the meantime, he started an MBA, elevating his business studies to a higher level.
With its sales team at PACCAR Financial, Peter more than doubled the company’s turnover, closing a record year in many ways. Seeing this result, the American headquarters of PACCAR approached him with an offer to become the Managing Director of DAF Hungary and Hungarotruck.
This was an attractive opportunity to move back to Hungary with his family and to take advantage of his experience in Australia, so he gladly accepted this offer. In Hungary DAF was a market leader for 10 years at that time, which has since managed to maintain this position for 12 consecutive years.
I first met Peter about 10 years ago when he was working in Melbourne and I was immediately struck by his engaging character.
