Spencer is the Chief Commercial Officer of Alphabet (GB) Ltd. Alphabet is BMW Group's multi-make fleet management and leasing business. It is represented in 31 markets worldwide and operates over 700,000 vehicles.
Spencer's career spans over 25 years in motor finance with Lloyds Bowmaker, PSA, VW Financial Services and BMW Group Financial Services.
Prior to taking over his position at Alphabet, Spencer was Director of Alphera UK, BMW Group's multi-make retail and wholesale finance division, a role which he has separately held twice during his career. He has lived and worked in London, Scotland, Hampshire and Australia.
Our conversation follows Spencer's career journey including deeper dives into what motivated him during his early years, how his priorities have broadened as he has matured, his experiences in the Australian market and his perspective on change as a source of opportunities.
I first met Spencer when he joined BMW Group in 2006 and our paths crossed again in Australia. He's a well known and respected figure in the UK motor finance industry and I'm pleased to be able to help you get to know him better in this way. As always, I look forward to hearing what elements of Spencer's story resonate with you.

Every individual, every team, every organisation has a level of performance that is available to them right now and typically a lower level of performance that they are actually experiencing. We call the gap between the two levels of performance, the underperformance gap. Our Aquilae Performance Model recognises the four fundamental contributors to performance and helps you identify how to get closer to your available performance and close that underperformance gap.
