CORALVILLE, Iowa — Iowa Heartlanders forward Jaxon Nelson has been named the Warrior Hockey ECHL player of the month for October. Nelson is a native of Magnolia who played for Luverne High School and the University of Minnesota. He is just the second player in Heartlanders history to win the honor, joining Ryan Kuffner (February 2022). Through 11 games this season, Nelson has scored nine goals and distributed seven assists for 16 points. Five of Nelson’s nine goals were on the power play.
